Understanding the fundamental physical properties of matter at a microscopic level leads to the development of reliable new materials for future’s applications. For these reasons scientist are interested in studying microscopic structure in a wide range of materials. Since we cannot see small-scale phenomena directly, we must rely on experimental methods that can probe deep inside materials for us. The mSR technique is one of the methods. It use a short-lived subatomic particle called muon, whose spin and charge are exquisitely sensitive local magnetic and electronic probes a matter. Recently mSR technique was used to investigate charge carrier motion in active layer solar cells based of polythiophene polymer.
